Approaching the Holy Chalice
As we approach the Holy Chalice, we fold our arms, right over left. This is both a posture of submission and confession of Christ’s victory over death. Newly-illumined people who have been received through Holy Baptism and Chrismation bear their lit candles and receive first for three Divine Liturgies, then Little Lambs and babes-in-arms to follow. If you are not Orthodox, or are Orthodox but have not prepared, we invite you to receive a blessing from Fr. Peter and partake of the blessed bread in the wooden bowls held by the Altar servers at the front of the church.

Brethren, we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them,” says the Lord, “and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.
The Gospel
The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke. (5:1-11)
At that time, Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennesaret. And He saw two boats by the lake; but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, Jesus asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when Jesus had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at Thy word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a great shoal of fish; and as their nets were breaking, they beckoned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the catch of fish, which they had taken; and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; henceforth you will be catching men.” And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.

Child Supervision: This is a reminder that children must not be left unsupervised in the nursery or on Church property, especially during services. All Saints does not have hall monitors or playground supervisors, and we want all of our children kept safe at all times. You are responsible for the safety & supervision of your children. If a child is corrected by an adult, it is expected that they will respond respectfully.

Archimandrite Fr. Jeremy will visit our Parish October 16 – 18 for his annual pastoral visit to All Saints. Details about this weekend will be shared soon.
Midwest Clergy Synaxis will take place in Brown County from October 19-23 with a Deaconal Retreat October 23-24. We will be blessed to welcome the deacons and deaconal candidates of the Midwest Region at and after Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 25. A special Sunday meal of gyros is being prepared. Food Pantry Our In-house food pantry is available to parish members as well as families and individuals in the community of Bloomington. Donations of nonperishable items of pasta, marinara sauce, peanut butter, canned chicken and tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit and soups are always a great blessing.
Mission Donations We send monthly support to Hannah Valentine, an Orthodox missionary in Albania.
