Fall Catechism Classes: Catechism classes (Orthodoxy 101) are held each Wednesday evening immediately following Vespers. Classes will be held in the church and will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. Orthodoxy 101 this Wednesday will be taught by Fr. Peter Jon: Acquiring an Orthodox Christian Mindset.
A special GYRO coffee hour today, October 18th! Many of us are feeling the loss of not being able to host our neighbors for the Festival on Fairfax this year, due to Covid 19 restrictions. We will, however, have a small parish-only celebration, while enjoying gyros and fellowship. Bring your appetite!
Receiving the Eucharist: We invite you to receive the Holy Eucharist if you are an Orthodox Christian who has prepared yourself through fasting, prayer, and recent confession. If you are not Orthodox, or are Orthodox but have not prepared, we invite you to receive a piece of the blessed bread.

I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may encourage your hearts, and with him Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you of everything that has taken place. The Lord said, “He who hears you hears Me, and he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” The Seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Thy Name!” And Jesus said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the spirit and said, “I thank Thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was Thy gracious will.”
